Game of Thrones may have ended back in 2019, but HBO is set to keep telling more stories set in the world of Westeros. Besides the upcoming House of the Dragon series, word has come out that we could be getting a show focused on Ser Duncan the Tall and Aegon Targaryen a.k.a. ‘Dunk & Egg’.

According to Variety, HBO is now in early development for an adaptation of Tales of Dunk and Egg, a series of novellas that George R.R Martin wrote which take place nearly 90s years before the events of Game of Thrones. The 3 books were The Hedge Knight, The Sworn Sword, and The Mystery Knight; and they were all put together in the collection A Knight of Seven Kingdoms.

Here’s a run through of the story of the Game of Thrones spinoff, Dunk and Egg:

While the story of A Song of Ice and Fire is complicated and rife with characters all with their own agenda, The Tales of Dunk and Egg are a tad more straightforward and simple. Sure they still have killing and drinking like Westeros is known to have, but the stakes are a lot smaller, and it’s a nice side story compared to the intense one the main narrative seeks to tell.

If anything, it looks like HBO is really looking to tell more stories in the world of Game of Thrones, not unlike how Disney is milking Star Wars and the MCU. Let’s just hope that there isn’t a drop in quality moving forward with so many different series.

For now, fans wait for House of the Dragon which is set to hit HBO sometime in 2022
