Harrison Ford Thinks It’s ‘Silly’ for Actors to Avoid Working for the MCU

Harris Ford had officially closed his book on Han Solo back in 2015, but he’s still managed to work on other big franchises like Indiana Jones and now next year’s upcoming Captain America: Brave New World.

Though fans have been used to him being a grump about getting attached to big IP, Ford was actually pretty optimistic about joining Marvel. In a recent interview with GQ, Ford talks about actors who like to avoid getting sucked into the franchise, and he says:

I don’t have anything general to say about it. It’s the condition our condition is in, and things change and morph and go on. We’re silly if we sit around regretting the change and don’t participate. I’m participating in a new part of the business that, for me at least, I think is really producing some good experiences for an audience. I enjoy that.”

If anything, it’s possible that Ford’s optimism could mean that he’s only going to appear in the MCU once; and with him turning into the Red Hulk, it’s likely that he could be like Mark Hamill in The Mandalorian series and just get credit for a character that’s brought to life with CG.

If Ford did look like he was pleased doing anything now, it’s definitely his role as a shrink in Apple TV+’s Shrinking:

For now, Brave New World is getting some scary buzz, and a lot of reporters have been saying that the movie isn’t flying well with test audiences; plus, the movie is still undergoing reshoots to this day. With so much pressure for Anthony Mackie’s debut as Captain America, I am hopeful that they manage to stick the landing next year.

Captain America: Brave New World is set to release in theatres Feb. 14, 2025.
