Quentin Tarantino barely does sequels, but if the idea is good enough—or the characters are fun enough—he’s going to be bringing them back. Such is the case with Brad Pitt’s Cliff Booth from Once Upon a Time… In Hollywood.
It was reported earlier this month that there would be a sequel featuring Cliff directed by David Fincher, and thanks to Deadline, we have some more details. According to the site, the sequel will be called The Continuing Adventures of Cliff Booth, and it will follow Cliff’s story as he moves from being a stuntman to a Hollywood studio fixer.
For context, the character of a fixer is pretty much like what Josh Brolin played in Hail, Caesar!. He essentially handled anything that was thrown at him, whether it be legal or illegal; and it looks like that’s what Cliff is going to be doing—especially with his trained skills and sparkling personality.
We don’t know if anyone else from OUATIH is going to be returning, but it would make sense for Rick Dalton (Leonardo DiCaprio) to make some kind of cameo—even if it’s just for a movie poster. We don’t know exactly what time period Cliff is going to be operating in, but I could very well see them bringing him to the mid-70s or maybe even the mid-80s—that’s surely a time period that would make for some great cameos and references.
I’d love to see Cliff taking on a young Sylvester Stallone or Arnold Schwarzenegger.
The Continuing Adventures of Cliff Booth is expected to come out on Netflix soon, possibly 2026.
