Lionhead Studios has been sending emails to Fable Legends players to apprise them on the game’s cancellation. In the email, players are told they have until April 13, to play, when servers will be shut down. Additionally, sales have been permanently halted and players who have made purchases for in-game content will be reimbursed in full. For individuals eligible for a refund, another email will arrive in the next week or so.
Yesterday, Microsoft announced Lionhead Studios Fable Legends would be canceled and the studio’s status of possible closure. Other sad news followed as Microsoft also announced Press Play Studios’ closure and cancellation of their work on Project Knoxville.
After the above announcements were made public, both studios were met with a bevy of support and gratitude for all they’ve done for the industry. The outpouring also saw those within the industry offering positions to anyone impacted by the closure(s):
