In case you thought Halloween 2017 couldn’t get any scarier, it’s been announced that Netflix‘s hit show Stranger Things will be airing its second season. The sci-fi thriller, which feels like every Spielberg film put together and carried along by an intense 80s-inspired soundtrack, has gained a huge following. Now, on top of the teaser trailer released during the Super Bowl, we have additional plot details and images from the set to get you excited.
The new images, released over on EW, show main characters Nancy Wheeler and Jonathan Byers working together again, Will returning back to school after the drama of season one and Hopper investigating something in the dark. As well as the images, Collider have provided us with some fresh details about where the characters are heading. Check them out below.
According to Collider, this is what Winona Ryder had to say about her character, Joyce Byers:
“I think she’s made this choice [to be in a relationship] with Bob (Sean Astin) because she wants a good father figure in her sons’ lives.”
Will (Noah Schnapp) “seems to be seeing images from the Upside Down—the question is whether they’re real or not. So it seems like he’s having some sort of post-traumatic stress disorder.”
Collider also have some important details about Hopper’s character and his focus in the new season:
David Harbour’s Hopper is trying to hold everything together and control the fallout as part of a cover-up story he believes is for the greater good.
We can’t wait to see the gang go full Ghostbuster in season two. Those 80s references just keep on coming.
In addition to existing characters, Collider also say that Stranger Things season two will be introducing a Stephen King-style “human villain” to the town. Finally, Gatan Matarazzo’s Dustin will also be getting an alien pet.
