Don’t Expect Daniel Radcliffe to Join Any Big Franchises Soon

Though his career may have started with a big franchise, Harry Potter’s Daniel Radcliffe has since been working on smaller, more artsy films. With the rumors coming out that Radcliffe was being considered for Moon Knight, Radcliffe himself has said that he isn’t interested in joining any big franchises soon.

Talking to Variety, Radcliffe explains:

“I don’t like to say no to things, but it’s not something that I’m rushing to do. I feel like those films have moved on and they’re doing just fine without us. I’m happy to keep it that way. I like what my life is now… I’m not saying that I’ll never go back into any franchise, but I like the flexibility that I have with my career now. And I don’t want to get into a situation where I’m signed up for one series for years in advance.”

If anything, Radcliffe doesn’t have too much to worry about when it comes to a Harry Potter return. Even if they do make a movie out of Cursed Child, it will probably be just one more movie, and not a whole series of films. Even then, I think the entire Potter fandom kind of just wants to put that piece of canon behind them.

If Radcliffe were to join the MCU though, I think he would be a fantastic villain. Heck, I’d love to see him go up against Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange. I guess only time will tell if that crossover will ever take place.

For now, you can catch Radcliffe in Guns Akimbo which comes out March 5.
