It’s difficult for studios to keep a lid on their sets these days. We saw this with Suicide Squad, when they filmed scenes with Batman out in the open. Plenty of spoilers have leaked out through set photos, but it’s rarely from someone attached to the film. Has a tweet from the set of Thor: Ragnarok let slip a huge link to another Marvel property?
Daley Pearson, an Australian writer and director, shared a tweet from the Brisbane set which included a few photos that you can see below. They all look pretty mundane, until you take a close look. On further inspection, one photo contains a possibly huge Easter egg that would link this film to the upcoming Doctor Strange.
In the first photo Chris Hemsworth can be seen holding a piece of paper which reads, “177A Bleecker Street”. That’s the address of Doctor Strange’s Sanctum Sanctorum in the Marvel universe. It’s also the address of a grocery store in our universe. Seriously. There’s a pretty big difference between the two.

Assuming that Thor isn’t heading for some snacks, this hints that he may pay Doctor Strange a visit. Of course, director Taika Waititi could just be playing a joke on us. Given that the news of Thor: Ragnarok’s New York set just broke, this would be a perfect reply. It would hardly be shocking for the acclaimed comedy director to pull off a trick like that.
However, we’re choosing to be optimistic about this news. It would be great to see Doctor Strange back on screen a year after his solo film. It would also be great if they could bring together Doctors Banner and Strange before they inevitable meet in Avengers: Infinity War.
Of course, Thor: Ragnarok doesn’t need to link to Doctor Strange, given the cast they’ve collected together. They’ve already added Cate Blanchett, Tessa Thompson, Jeff Goldblum, Karl Urban and Mark Ruffalo. They join Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston Idris Elba and Anthony Hopkins. Benedict Cumberbatch would be in good company, though.
Thor: Ragnarok hits theatres on November 3, 2017.
