Defenders Together: Finn Jones Teases How It Happens

Now that Marvel’s Iron Fist has been released on Netflix, talk has shifted to The Defenders series. Developed for Netflix by Douglas Petrie and Marco Ramirez, The Defenders looks at four of our favorite Marvel superheroes: Daredevil (Charlie Cox), Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), Luke Cage (Mike Colter), and Iron Fist (Finn Jones) and how they band together to fight the villains of New York. Each superhero has had interactions with the others within their own Netflix shows, some not so positive, so the way these four will come together should prove interesting to say the least.

In an interview with Metro recently, Iron Fist’s Finn Jones wouldn’t give away a lot of details, but he did mention the way they meet up will be unique. “The way all the Defenders come together isn’t quite what you’d imagine, and it’s really fun bringing that to life in a very authentic way.”

Jones also remarked on what it was like to work with the rest of the ensemble cast, saying “we have such a great dynamic between us as actors and as friends.” But when pressed, he does think that he and Luke Cage are the best match-up of the bunch: “all the scenes with me and Mike [Colter] have been really solid.”

Jones has also talked previously about how his character specifically will fit into The Defenders and what being a part of that group will mean for Danny Rand. “Danny understands the bigger threat, because he’s been dealing it all throughout his life and all throughout season one of Iron Fist,” he said.

Regardless of how they meet and get together, it looks like The Defenders is going to give us a lot of great action and great quips. It is set to release later this year, although no date has been officially released.
