We’re still coming to terms with the news that Deadpool won’t be appearing in Logan next year. When that report by The Wrap was shot down by the film’s director James Mangold, and Ryan Reynolds himself, we were quite disappointed. Surely Fox owe us a proper pairing of the two characters after the mess that was X-Men Origins: Wolverine?
Well, it turns out that there is still hope of these two heroes combining on the big screen. Deadpool still won’t appear in Logan, and that’s probably for the best. After all, the film would have to deviate a lot from that fantastic trailer to fit in a character as crazy as Wade Wilson. However, a tweet from THR reporter Borys Kit suggests that Fox do have something in the works for these two.
Re: Deadpool in LOGAN – my sources say def no way he’s in the movie. BUT…don’t rule out something ELSE involving Deadpool & Wolvie.

But, just what does the studio have in store for us? We know that Logan is Hugh Jackman’s final appearance as Wolverine. It would be strange for him to now sign on for one last outing alongside Deadpool. A new joint project is highly unlikely, even a cameo from Jackman in Deadpool 2 would be an odd move after he hangs up the claws.
The most likely outcome is that they were filming some kind of promotional material. If you look at the denials, they all revolved around Deadpool not appearing in Logan. No one has denied that Reynolds showed up to film something with Jackman’s Wolverine. Part of the incredible box office success that Deadpool enjoyed came from an incredible marketing campaign. Some viral marketing featuring Wolverine is certainly a great way to top that.
Hopefully we do finally get some crossover between two of Marvel’s most popular mutants. Even if that ends up being just a five minute YouTube clip, at this point we’d take it. Before then, you can see Jackman’s final outing as Wolverine when Logan hits theatres on March 3, 2017.
