Probably one of the only successful franchises to come out of the Marvel Fox universe is Deadpool, and a lot of people were curious as to what would happen to the R-Rated movies when family friendly Disney took over. What’s interesting is, Deadpool will indeed come to the MCU, and Marvel head Kevin Feige has confirmed it.

Talking to Collider, Feige explains:

“It will be rated R and we are working on a script right now, and Ryan’s overseeing a script right now… It will not be [filming] this year. Ryan is a very busy, very successful actor. We’ve got a number of things we’ve already announced that we now have to make, but it’s exciting for it to have begun. Again, a very different type of character in the MCU, and Ryan is a force of nature, which is just awesome to see him bring that character to life.”

We don’t really know how Deadpool is going to be introduced in the MCU, but a lot of people suspect that it will have something to do with the Multiverse and Doctor Strange. What are the odds that Deadpool is going to appear in an after-credits scene, walking through a portal and finding his new place in the MCU? They could probably use the movie to introduce the concept of mutants—an element that was already pretty prevalent in the past 2 DP films.

For now, it’s all just speculation. Hopefully we don’t have to wait until 2022 for another update on the film. We don’t know when Deadpool 3 is planned to come out, but you can catch WandaVision on Disney+ when it debuts on Jan. 15.
