It’s fair to say that Ryan Reynolds has earned the title of King of Superhero Comedy. Since he took the role of Deadpool in the 20th Century Fox movie, Reynolds’s Wade Wilson has earned a reputation for his quick wit and his clever comebacks. There’s the recent teaser, showing Reynolds taking longer than he should to change into his Deadpool costume. Secondly, we have countless references to superhero films in Deadpool. Not forgetting the bro-mance between Hugh Jackman and Reynolds on Twitter. Whatever the opportunity, Reynolds finds the comedy.
Leading up to the Deadpool sequel, Reynolds has posed in front of the X-Men mansion for his latest stint. This is not the first time that Reynolds has cracked a joke about the absence of the X-Men from his solo movie. Whilst Deadpool did get to team up with two X-Men, Colossus and Negasonic Teenage Warhead, in his debut it still led him to the line: “It’s a big house. It’s funny that I only ever see two of you. It’s almost like the studio couldn’t afford another X-Man.”
You can see the Instagram post below.
Taken from EW:
“Dropped by X-Mansion. Looked closely for Beast’s lawn bombs before taking well deserved nap,” Reynolds wrote on Instagram. On Facebook, he captioned the same photo, “Now filming Deadpool 2: Xavier’s Lust.” On Twitter, he poked fun at the big reveal: “Big f—ing surprise. No one’s home.”
ComicBookRecord are also offering some reasons for why Wade Wilson might be back at X-Mansion. Although details on the sequel are slim, CBR believe that we could be seeing much more of the interior.
Deadpool 2 will feature returning cast members Morena Baccarin, T.J. Miller, Brianna Hildebrand and Leslie Uggams. In addition to this, Josh Brolin will be taking the role of Deadpool’s sidekick, Cable. Jack Kesy is also reportedly playing the movie’s villain.
Deadpool 2 opens in cinemas on July 1st 2018.
