Suicide Squad was one mess of a film, but that didn’t mean that it was all bad. Surprisingly, Margot Robbie was spot-on casting for Harley Quinn, and it’s possible that she could be returning to the DCEU sometime next year with three possible movies down the line.

According to The Wrap, Robbie could return as Harley in either the Suicide Squad sequel, Harley Quinn vs The Joker, or—get this—a Birds of Prey movie. As per the Wrap’s insider source, Robbie has shown a personal interest in the Birds of Prey film, and It’s said to feature multiple female villains/heroes/antiheroes.

To those who don’t know the Birds of Prey was an all-female superhero group that started with the Oracle and Black Canary. The team has eventually grown to include the likes of Huntress and Lady Blackhawk. If Robbie’s Harley Quinn was involved, I’m thinking that she could be running her own supervillain group to go head-to-head with the heroes.

With news on Gotham City Sirens getting quiet, I can’t help but think that Birds of Prey is somewhat Warner Bro’s replacement for that film. The team is still pretty much based in Gotham, and it could still include Gotham femme fatales like Catwoman and Poison Ivy.

For now, Birds of Prey is still in its very early stages of development, so we don’t have an official release date yet. If all else, we’ll just see Robbie make a return in the Suicide Squad sequel or the Harley/Joker movie sometime next year.
