Cowboy Bebop Announces Production Start with One Last Addition to Cast

Netflix has been notorious for their less than stellar anime adaptations, and fans of Cowboy Bebop are watching closely when it comes to the live-action adaptation. Production has apparently started on the show, and Netflix has announced it by introducing us to one more cast member—Ein the Corgi!

Check him out in this new behind-the-scenes trailer:

A ragtag crew of bounty hunters chases down the galaxy’s most dangerous criminals. They’ll save the world … for the right price.

It’s funny that Ein should be one of the latest members announced, seeing as he was one of the first new members of the crew. Heck, he was part of the Bebop before Faye Valentine came along.

In the show, Ein was known as a “data dog” and his intelligence was said to have been enhanced greatly. Despite that, his use to the crew is basically unnoticed, and he acts like any regular pet in the show. It’s also worth noting that Ein has a close relationship with the hacker Edward who has still been unannounced for the live-action series. With Ein in the mix though, I have a feeling that the show is going to introduce us to Edward at some point; maybe she could even be teased by the end of the first season.

Like I said, fans are remaining cautiously optimistic when it comes to the live-action Cowboy Bebop. So far, the cast looks good, but it will all really depend on the overall execution. Let’s hope it all goes well.

No release date has been set for Netflix’s Cowboy Bebop, but with production starting now, I’m guessing a premiere could come later next year.
