While it seems doomed to never earn a much deserved second season, Constantine is still trucking along in some fashion. The beloved cult series, cancelled by NBC before Season 1 could get a full order, is finally coming to home video. The release of Constantine: The Complete Series was recently unveiled, now there’s something tangible to back up the hype. Fans of the show have been burned in the past, but at least this ray of sunshine’s on the horizon.

The DVD/Blu-Ray release will be available to purchase through the WB Shop website, Amazon, and other online retailers on October 4. Check out the official box art:

In the press release, the Hellblazer himself Matt Ryan had the following to say:

“Actors don’t generally like to revisit their own filmed performances, but I really enjoyed watching the episodes myself because Constantine is such a bold, outright character – both to play and to watch. He’s this brilliant ball of wisecracking, chain-smoking street magic – and it’s so much fun exploring his fascinating, dark world of torment and mystery. I’m happy the fans will now have the opportunity to experience the series on Blu-ray, plus all the bonus features.”

In a way, this John Constantine is still very much alive. There’s the possibility of him returning to the Arrowverse. Even if for some reason he doesn’t, his very existence within it is comforting. Besides, he will likely continue to receive references. Recall Oliver’s “Constantine’s in Hell” line from Arrow Season 4.

However, fans remain hopeful for a second season renewal. The CW doesn’t seem to be too interested, but that doesn’t mean fans should give up on saving Constantine.
