Seeing that Parks and Recreation was able to make a reunion special amidst the lockdown, the cast of Community is going to be doing the same thing as well.
According to Variety, the core cast of Community which includes Joel McHale, Gillian Jacobs, Danny Pudi, Yvette Nicole Brown, Alison Brie, Jim Rash, and Ken Jeong will be coming together to do a table read of Cooperative Polygraphy. Show creator Dan Harmon will also be part of the table read, and they’ve even managed to bring back Donald Glover.
If you recall, Cooperative Polygraphy was an episode where the entire study group had to undergo a polygraph test in order to receive the final bequests that Pierce left the group after his death. Conveniently, it’s a bottle episode, meaning the characters just really stay in one place, so it’s perfect for something like a virtual table read.
The cast and crew are also ready to answer questions from any fans who would be watching.
Personally I would prefer that they actually wrote a new episode of the study group undergoing the quarantine together, but I guess this is fun enough considering the situation that we’re all in. If it’s any consolation, there has been a renewed interest in Community ever since it came out on Netflix, and hopefully we can get the movie finally after this whole virus thing blows over.
You can catch the Community live table read on Monday, May 18, 2 p.m. on Sony Picture TV’s Community Youtube page.
