The Children are Not Safe in Intense Trailer for Weapons

We know that Barbarian director Zach Cregger is working on the movie reboot of Resident Evil, but he’s also set to release another horror movie in the form of Weapons starring Julia Garner and Josh Brolin.

The film is set to come out in August, and we have a new trailer that is sure to pique the interest of any horror fan. Check this out:

The official description of the film reads:

When all but one child from the same class mysteriously vanish on the same night at exactly the same time, a community is left questioning who or what is behind their disappearance.

Besides Garner and Brolin, the movie aso features the likes of Benedict Wong, Austin Abrams, Alden Ehrenreich, and Cary Christopher.

One of the best things about Barbarian is probably how Cregger was able to pull the rug from underneath everyone’s feet by presenting a familiar premise only to reveal that the movie was going a completely different direction.

For now, Weapons is pretty up front with its mystery as to what is happening with the kids and why it’s only happening to one teacher. I have a guess that it has something to do with the concept of sleeper agents, but I’m excited to see just what kind of answer Cregger has in store.

I just hope it isn’t magic because that’s kind of what bummed me out about Longlegs when I first saw it.

Watch out for Weapons when the film comes out on Aug. 8.
