Rian Johnson has been pretty busy NOT working on Star Wars, and besides the third Knives Out movie, he also has the second season of the fantastic Poker Face on Peacock.
The second season of the series premieres in May, and we have a new trailer showing off a star-studded cast which is lead by series regular Natasha Lyonne. Check this out:
Besides the returning Lyonne, the series has managed to book the likes of John Mulaney, Katie Holmes, Cynthia Erivo, Giancarlo Esposito, Kumail Nanjiani, Justin Theroux, and Alia Shawkat—just to name a few.
I am interested in the new character that John Cho plays who is touting himself as the best liar in the world—matched with Charlie who is the best lie detector. I am also happy to see Taylor Schilling be part of the cast, since she had a lot o great moments with Lyonne in their hit Netflix series Orange is the New Black.
The way Poker Face goes, we should expect every episode to focus on a whole new batch of characters interacting with Charlie, but there is also the overlying story that Charlie is on the run and needs to be on the down-low lest she wants to stay alive.
The series is fantastic, and Lyonne absolutely shines as Charlie Cale. She may only play one kind of character, but boy is she magnetic.
Watch out for the new season of Poker Face when it premieres on Peacock on May 8.
