Timothee Chalamet is Bob Dylan in First Trailer for A Complete Unknown

Dune star Austin Butler had already made his name playing Elvis in the biopic of the same name, and now his rival in Dune, Timothee Chalamet, is also set to star in another biopic centered on a famous musician.

Check out the trailer for A Complete Unknown where Chalamet plays a young Bob Dylan:

The official description reads:

Set in the influential New York music scene of the early 60s, A COMPLETE UNKNOWN follows 19-year-old Minnesota musician BOB DYLAN’s (Timothée Chalamet) meteoric rise as a folk singer to concert halls and the top of the charts – his songs and mystique becoming a worldwide sensation – culminating in his groundbreaking electric rock and roll performance at the Newport Folk Festival in 1965.

Besides Chalamet, the movie also features the talents of Edward Norton, Elle Fanning, Monica Barbaro, Dan Fogler, Scoot McNairy, and Norbery Leo Butz. It’s also worth noting that Boyd Holbrook will also be playing the part of another musican—Johnny Cash.

The film is directed by James Mangold, who is best known for his work on Logan starring Hugh Jackman. When it comes to his films that are more in line with this genre, Mangold has also directed Walk the Line, the Johnny Cash biopic starring Joaquin Phoenix.

Chalamet is no doubt a fine actor, and Bob Dylan is one of the more influential musicians of all time. With Bohemian Rhapsody introducing a whole new generation of audiences to Queen, maybe A Complete Unknown will also be everyone’s first time hearing Like a Rolling Stone—after all, that’s where the movie gets its title.

A Complete Unknown comes to theaters this December
