Ant-Man and the Wasp is finally out of the way, and now Marvel Studios can focus on marketing for next year’s Captain Marvel. The show promises to bring us old and new characters, and thanks to Entertainment Weekly, we a bit of new info on two members of the Kree Starforce.
For one, we have Guardians of the Galaxy’s Korath the Pursuer making a return alongside Ronan the Accuser; but instead of being Thanos lackeys, they are working with the Kree. Djimon Hounsou, who plays Korath, had this to say about his character:
“[Korath] is still a humorless machine… But we get to experience him in his infancy.”
Another member of Starforce that we meet is Minn-Erva/Minerva from the comics. She was originally a villain for Mar-Vell, but we don’t know how the movie plans to handle the character this time around. Gemma Chan, who plays her in the movie, did have this to say about Minn-Erva:
“Before Carol joined the team, Minn-Erva was the star of Starforce… So she’s slightly threatened by someone else who has come in and is also very talented.”
It looks very likely that we’ll see the fall of both of these characters in the film, but I’m hopeful that Marvel doesn’t do something so predictable—like they always do. I mean, I could see Janet Van Dyne healing the Ghost’s affliction in Ant-Man from a mile away.
Catch Captain Marvel in theaters March 8, 2019.
