Marvel have gone all-out in their effort to promote the new Spider-Man: Homecoming. The latest take on the famous webslinger will be the first time that the studio have had access to Peter Parker. This is because Sony Pictures, who own the rights, agreed to a team-up. So, you can imagine how eager Marvel were to bring Spider-Man into the wider MCU. With Avengers: Infinity War hitting cinemas next year, the appearance of Tony Stark doesn’t come as a surprise.
Yet, in a new TV spot it looks like another Avenger will be getting more airtime than we thought. We already knew that Captain America would be appearing in Homecoming. Yet, as well as the Captain teaching kids in gym class, it appears that he’ll be once again swapping the action-pieces for some more lessons. In the latest spot, this time we see the Captain giving a message to Parker and his class during detention. Check out the video below at 0:58 to see more.
As we can see from the compilation of different TV spots above, the studio have teased us a lot of footage. Via ComicBookMovie:
“As you can see in the second TV spot in the first video below, Cap will also have a message for students stuck in detention, something Peter doesn’t seem overly happy about after quite quickly being beaten up by the Star Spangled Avenger when they crossed paths in Captain America: Civil War last year.”
Of course, we all remember the iconic scene where Spider-Man finally entered the Avengers’ battle in Civil War. Swinging into shot, Parker webbed the Captain’s shield right out of his hands. With Homecoming set a short time after Civil War, it’s not clear whether Peter and the Captain are friends now. If CBM are right, we could be in for some great play-offs.
