Evangeline Lilly’s Wasp made her debut earlier this year with Ant-Man and the Wasp, but she was supposed to have appeared in Captain America: Civil War. Some concept art released has Wasp and Ant-Man teaming up with Iron Man and going up against… Hawkeye??
Check it out:
Some of you may know I did a whole bunch of keyframe illustrations based on an early script draft of Civil War. Wasp was at one point going to make her debut in this movie. It was fun but I’m glad they held out to properly introduce her in #AntManandtheWasp @EvangelineLilly pic.twitter.com/NZjoO3W75W

Though Ant-Man ended up in Team Cap during the film, it was rumored that he was supposed to originally be recruited by Tony Stark should the deal with Spider-Man not push through. It was said that Scott Lang would be recruited by Stark during a soccer match with his daughter, and he would have probably brought the Wasp along.
Seeing that Scott Lang is more of a rebel, it would make more sense that he would join Team Cap, so I guess it’s great that the Spider-Man deal ended up pushing through. Just imagine though, a big chunk of Ant-Man and the Wasp’s plot was because of Scott Lang’s actions in Civil War; it probably would’ve ended up very differently if Ant-Man was for the Sokovia Accords.
For now Scott is in the timeline that has him stuck in the Quantum Realm after Thanos’ snap. We don’t know how long he’s going to be down there, but it has been hinted that he is key to beating Thanos should he show up. Personally, I’m hoping that the MCU actually sits for a few years on its defeat before bringing everything back to normal.
After all that hard work, it would be a shame if Thanos’ actions could be fixed so quickly and easily. Give us some consequences, Marvel!
Avengers 4 comes out May 3, 2019.
