Babs will be joining Tim Drake’s Robin as a figure in a series of Batman: Arkham Knight statues. While Robin’s upcoming figure comes from Prime 1 Studio, Batgirl’s is from Square Enix’s Play Arts Kai line. The figure is based on the suit she wore in the Arkham Knight DLC, A Matter of Family, which is set before the events of the first game, Arkham Asylum. Yes, the prequel bit still makes zero sense in the lore based on the series’ timeline, but hey, at least her figure looks amazing.
The figure, at 10 inches tall, will come with a stand, an articulated hard-plastic cape, a Batarang, interchangeable hands and a grapnel gun. Scheduled for release sometime this August, the figure will cost 12,800 Yen, which is roughly $117 USD. It’s definitely another figure for collectors to swoon over. There aren’t many detailed Batgirl figures out there, so this will be worth adding to the Bat-Collection. This year seems to be looking up for Babs, as she will also be getting a prologue offering her story more depth in the upcoming animated adaption of Alan Moore’s Batman: The Killing Joke graphic novel. It, too, is set to hit store shelves later this year.
