Avengers Infinity War Set Photos: A Strange Reunion

Avengers! Assemble!

Lunch is one thing, but saving the world is a whole different story. New photos have surfaced from the set of Avengers: Infinity War through The AP. The photos showcase Robert Downey Jr (Iron Man), Mark Ruffalo (The Hulk), Benedict Cumberbatch (Doctor Strange), and Benedict Wong (Wong) in the midst of a destroyed New York.

Both Cumberbatch and Wong are in full costume, while RDJ and Ruffalo dress in more casual attire. Ruffalo sports a dark blazer and jeans while RDJ takes on a black and orange jumpsuit, while a crew member carries his new Iron Man suit around the set as seen below.

The four seem comfortable with each other so it’s possible that at this point in the film they know each other and working together. But the actors could have also been in between takes and just going over blocking and lines together.

If you look closely, you can see a lot more than the actors. For instance, Tony has the arc reactor back in his chest. The same arc reactor that Tony had removed during the finale of Iron Man 3 (2012).

In the photos Tony’s unzipped jump suit reveals the arc reactor underneath. Whether this means Tony is bringing it back as a precaution or he’s just feeling nostalgic is unknown at the moment. On the bright side, it seems Dr. Banner has found his way home following his trip later this year in Thor: Ragnorak.

Infinity War is the third film in the Avengers movies, and will be followed by an untitled fourth film slated for May 3rd, 2019. Both of which will be filmed back to back in Atlanta by directors Joe and Anthony Russo who return following Captain America: Civil War (2016). Filming began on January 23rd, 2017.

Avengers: Infinity War hits theatres May 4th, 2018. It will be a hallmark film marking 10 years since the MCU debuted in 2008.
