The current Avengers facility doesn’t seem like a fun place to be right now. The compound is basically empty after the events of Captain America: Civil War. The home of Earth’s mightiest heroes is missing a few heroes, but that could be about to change. We might just have accidental conformation that the Avengers’ home will be reappearing much sooner than expected.
Comicbook.com are linking an Instagram post from Tom Holland to a reappearance of the New Avengers’ facility. The actor is a pretty frequent user of the social media site, even while filming for Spider-Man: Homecoming. The latest photo from his account showed the Civil War star visiting Porsche’s headquarters in Atlanta. While that sounds fun, he might not have been there just for pleasure.
The Porsche facility doubled for The Avengers’ HQ during Civil War’s Atlanta shoot. Homecoming is filming in the same location, and Holland is yet to wrap his role. Rumours are suggesting that Robert Downey Jr recently arrived there to shoot his role in the film. Is this just coincidence, or could there be a reappearance of this now vital part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe?
Between now and Avengers: Infinity War, expect Tony Stark to be busy filling out the Avengers’ compound. An injured War Machine and The Vision are Iron Man’s only companions right now. Surely he’s going to be after a new new recruits. If he was going for anyone right now, it would probably be Spider-Man.
Also, this wouldn’t exactly be a new move by Marvel. They included the facility in Ant-Man briefly. It actually makes more sense to include it in this film. Spidey still isn’t an Avenger, despite his MCU antics so far. If he’s going to step up to the team, that would need to be addressed in his solo adventure.
While this is just speculation, we’ll know for sure on July 7, 2017, when Spider-Man: Homecoming hits theatres.
