The Franchise on HBO may have been cancelled after one season, but the Hollywood satire series The Studio starring Seth Rogen seems to be doing very well for Apple TV.
Just in, Apple has announced that they would be renewing The Studio for a second season. Here’s the official post:

Take note, the first season isn’t even done yet, and we’re expecting a total of 10 episodes out of Season One. We don’t know exactly where they plan to end, but with Hollywood chugging along for as long as it has, they probably have a lot of ideas to get from.
As for the series itself, the story focuses on Matt Remnick (Rogen) who is tasked to run a prestige Hollywood Studio. He has high hopes to create prestige movies that also make a lot of money, but that’s easier said than done.
Besides Rogen, the series has an all-star cast which includes the likes of Catherine O’Hara, Ike Barinholtz, and Kathryn Hahn. The show has also managed to get some great cameos from Hollywood icons like Bryan Cranston, Ice Cube, and even Martin Scorsese himself.
As someone who was all-in on The Franchise, I’m kind of bummed that this series would get to go on despite having the same premise. But I do admit, The Studio has a more general-audience friendly sense of humor, unlike The Franchise which has its very specific brand of dryness. I think it’s still worth checking out though.
