The Conjuring Universe’s next entry, Annabelle: Creation, is launching in a few days. Reviews, thus far, have been universally positive, especially compared to the doll’s first solo outing. That said, new details about the film are beginning to emerge and one of the latest indicates fans may want to stick around after the credits start to roll.

Responding to a fan on Twitter, director David F. Sandberg revealed Annabelle: Creation has both a mid-credit scene and a post-credit scene.

Apparently, the post-credit scene wasn’t his idea, but Sandberg approves.

What the scenes feature are publicly unknown. However, they are likely universe building. Might one of them be teasing The Nun, the next spinoff for The Conjuring franchise? Perhaps there is a hint regarding what to expect from the Crooked Man’s solo. Or maybe fans will get the first inkling about what is being planned for The Conjuring 3. All that is known about third film narrative is it will not explore another haunted house tale.

Annabelle: Creation’s synopsis is as follows:

“Former toy maker Sam Mullins and his wife Esther are happy to welcome a nun and six orphaned girls into their California farmhouse. Years earlier, the couple lost their 7-year-old daughter Annabelle in a tragic car accident. Terror soon strikes when one of the girls finds a seemingly innocent doll that seems to have a life of its own.”
The sequel opens in theaters on August 11. The Nun hits the silver screen next summer on July 13, 2018; Crooked Man’s spinoff is currently without a release date.
