‘American Horror Story’ Promo Reflects on the Past

Again, FX won’t stop with the American Horror Story Season 6 teasers. However, this new clip seems like less of a teaser on what’s ahead and more about recalling the past. Although, it does seem to confirm theories that all seasons in the anthology series are indeed connected. The video shows quick glimpses of recognizable motifs from AHS, Asylum, Coven, Freakshow and Hotel. It even changes up the tune, as the themes different of Seasons 1-4 play in the background. Take a look at all that’s come before in the short promo below.

Unfortunately, but perhaps fortunately, Season 6 still remains one giant secret. An exorbitant number of teasers have been stealthily launched online. All incredibly different from each other, and all potentially having nothing to do with what we’ll actually be watching come September.

Of the first six teaser clips, FX CEO John Landgraf had this to say (via IndieWire):

“One is accurate; all the rest are misdirect.” He continued, “We decided, Ryan and I and [marketing president] Stephanie Gibbons, that it would be really fun this year… to keep it a mystery. There is a theme and a setting and a place and time, but we’re not going to reveal it.”

What also shouldn’t be counted out is the possibility the show will explore the mystery of Roanoke Island. According to reports and alleged set photos, that unsolved case in American history will provide the backdrop for Season 6.

Cast members from past seasons set to return are as follows: Sarah Paulson, Cheyenne Jackson, Lady Gaga, Angela Bassett, Evan Peters, and possibly Finn Wittrock. The status of regulars such as Kathy Bates, Wes Bentley, Connie Britton, and Dennis O’Hare is unknown.

American Horror Story will return for its sixth season on Wednesday, September 14. Tell us your thoughts and theories on what’s ahead in the comments below.
