Solo: A Star Wars Story may have underperformed, but Lucasfilm is still pushing forward with their other films set in the universe. During an appearance at All-Star Comic-Con, Clone Wars voice actor Tom Kane confirms that a total of nine movies are in the works, but don’t expect a Yoda spinoff film.
Aaron Goins made the confirmation on Twitter:
Tom Kane seems to be somewhat in the know but very hesitant to share.. claims there are at least 9 Star Wars films in various stages of development, some individual character stories yet to be announced, but definitely not Yoda. #StarWars #AllStarComicCon

Though nine films may seem like a lot, it does fall in line with the projects that have been rumored or have been officially announced by Lucasfilm. If we break them down, we get:
Rian Johnson’s Trilogy (3 films)
David Beniof and D.B. Weiss’ series of films (possibly 3 films)
Obi-Wan Kenobi movie (still unannounced, but very likely)
Boba Fett movie (directed by James Mangold)
Star Wars Episode IX (directed by J.J. Abrams)
… all for a total of 9 movies.
There were recent rumblings about a Yoda movie in development. Personally though, I don’t think a Yoda standalone’s all that interesting. If I were to see a young Yoda in a movie, I would prefer that he would be part of an ensemble. Maybe they could set a film a hundred years before the prequels, and have Yoda be a pirate along with Maz Kanata from Force Awakens?
Besides the movies, let’s not forget that we’re also getting a bunch of Star Wars on TV as well. There’s the anime-inspired Star Wars Resistance from Clone Wars and Rebels creator Dave Filoni, and we also have Jon Favreau’s live-action Star Wars series set to premiere with Disney’s streaming service.
For now Lucasfilm’s plate seems full, but I’m expecting more movies to be announced as the year trudges along.
