8. Swamp Thing

He’s a massive upright, walking heap of sentient plant life. What else is there to say? If Solomon Grundy, who was born on a Monday, can have a part in Injustice, then so too should Swamp Thing. If you think Poison Ivy represents the wondrous power of nature, think again, because this guy is more than a force to be reckoned with — he is the force.

Swamp Thing has too many powers to discuss here, but some of the more notable ones, that would be beneficial to a fighting game, are abilities such as: controlling plant life, being able to cast illusions into the minds of others, manipulating his size, and making copies of himself with bio-fission. The last one would probably be tough to nail in any game, but it could be pulled off — we believe in you NetherRealm.

As someone known to fight for the good of both nature and humanity, he may be integral to either side of whatever conflict builds in Injustice 2. Superman’s Regime, if it’s still around, could sway him by simply relaying the fact that humans offer a much greater danger to themselves, and nature, than is fully understood. Meanwhile, the Insurgency could argue that tyranny leads to the destruction of all natural life, plant and human alike. Or maybe Swamp Thing would rather let the human and aliens sort their mess out for themselves. He’d be a formidable foe for either side and even more so during a heated match against players.

There you have it, 8 characters we would like to see in Injustice 2. With newcomers to the franchise such as Supergirl, Atrocitus, and Gorilla Grodd already confirmed, the roster is looking strong and we’re still at least a year out from release. Who would you like to see appear as a playable character in Injustice 2? Sound off with your thoughts in the comments below.
