4. Blue Beetle

Jaime Reyes' Blue Beetle in Young Justice

Blue Beetle is arguably one of the most under utilized, yet still relatively well-known DC characters. Most of his recent popularity stems from the Young Justice television series, and he’s proof that legacy characters remain one of the publisher’s strong suits. Why Jaime Reyes and not Dan Garrett or Ted Kord? For diversity? That’s a part of it, but the bulk of the excitement surrounding Jaime is the fact that his abilities are exponentially more awesome, and more powerful, than that of those who bore the Blue Beetle moniker before him.

Thanks to Jaime’s unique connection with the scarab previously used by Dan Garrett, he’s able to mold an exo-suit to his body, which gives him super strength and super speed, while also giving him the ability to form weapons and wings.

Incredible, right? He would essentially be another gadget character and there’s no way his NetherRealm makeover wouldn’t be one of the game’s highlights.

NEXT: A Cloak of Destiny and a Helmet of Fate.
