1. Jericho Triumphant
This week’s show ended with Jericho atop a ladder, symbolically taking the Money in the Bank briefcase. He also did that silly leg-crossing thing, a new layer to the hilarious foil ball that is Y2J. Some time back, he mentioned on his podcast that his job now was to help young talent. Although that means losing, WWE is making Chris Jericho look like a monster heel, which is where he does some of his best work.
As for Money in the Bank, we’re saving our predictions for later this week. In all fairness, the event has had its share of moments. It’s been around long enough to give us Rollins’s first big win, and the night Paul Heyman turned on Punk. The contract-in-a-briefcase gimmick is stale, but the action’s always good.
Is it pre- or post-season? It doesn’t matter. This week’s Raw was a better go-home show than we’ve seen from WWE in a while. With any luck, WWE will keep things interesting as we head further from WrestleMania, and onward to SummerSlam.
