In just under a weeks time, another Star Wars movie will be hitting our silver screens. Rogue One: A Star Wars story has the world waiting with bated breath. Somebody who is equally as excited to return to a galaxy far, far away, is Batman v Superman director Zack Snyder. A few days ago Snyder took to the social media network Vero to share a picture expressing his excitement for Rogue One, which is of Batman holding a red lightsaber instead of the Kryptonite spear used in the movie.

Well it turns out this wasn’t just a one off demonstration of his love for Star Wars. In fact, that image is taken from a trailer of Batman v Superman that Snyder has crammed full of Star Wars stuff (via BatmanNews). From snippets of dialogue and sound effects stripped from the movies, to Batman piloting a TIE Interceptor! Seriously, it’s the best thing you’ll see all week. Check it out below:

Snyder posted the video with the caption:

“Dark Side Knight v Superjedi. In anticipation of Rogue One, I wanted to share a little Star Wars fan film I made after JJ released his Hunka Junk mash-up… long overdue.”

The video Snyder is referring to is a clip Star Wars: The Force Awakens director J.J. Abrams posted in 2014 during the pair’s Twitter war, which shows how the Batmobile is apart of the Millennium Falcon. That famous exchange between the two directors saw some incredible mashups between Star Wars and DC Comics, from Superman as a Sith Lord to C-3P0 as the new Caped Crusader, all because they were shooting their respective movies at the same time. Well Snyder has certainly left the ball in Abrams’ court now with this incredible trailer, something Snyder has been working on for over a year according to Batman v Superman cinematographer, Larry Fong. Say what you will about Dawn of Justice, but there’s no denying this injection of Star Wars makes for one splendid crossover.
