In the world of television pilots, just like in comic books, nothing is ever truly dead. Although The CW’s 2015 attempt to bring the beloved romantic drama The Notebook to the small screen didn’t work out, the network is giving it another go.
Last week, Deadline confirmed that The CW plans on redeveloping a pilot based on the 2004 movie and the Nickolas Sparks novel. Sparks is an executive producer on the Warner Bros. TV project, along with Theresa Park.
The CW had developed an adaptation of the how back in August 2015, Entertainment Weekly reported at the time. Todd Graff was hired to write, but that version didn’t get far.
The Notebook film starred Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams.
