A quick glance at Gorilla City’s outskirts in Season 2 has kept viewers patiently waiting for more since. Ahead of Season 3’s premiere, fans were teased with the knowledge that a trip to the city was imminent. The wait is finally coming to a close, people. In less than three weeks, Team Flash will journey through the multiverse to Earth-2. Once there, Gorilla Grodd’s expectant return to the show will surely bring about many troubles for the Speedster and his friends. However, the synopsis below also intimates that the Gorilla and the Flash crew may team-up, if only for a brief period of time.

“BARRY AND TEAM TRAVEL TO GORILLA CITY AND FACE GRODD – When Jesse Quick (guest star Violett Beane) informs the team that her father (Tom Cavanagh) has been abducted, Barry (Grant Gustin), Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker), Cisco (Carlos Valdes) and Julian (Tom Felton) voyage to Earth-2 on a rescue mission to save Harry from Gorilla City. As they trek through the forest, Barry and the team are immediately captured and brought to Grodd (voiced by David Sobolov). Grodd tells them he needs their help to stop Solovar (voiced by Keith David), the leader of Gorilla City, as Solovar wants to invade Earth-1. Meanwhile, back on Earth-1, Jesse and Kid Flash (Keiynan Lonsdale) hit the streets to stop a metahuman that can control gravity, with H.R. and Joe (Jesse L. Martin) guiding them from S.T.A.R Labs. Dermott Downs directed the episode with story by Andrew Kresiberg and teleplay by Aaron Helbing & David Kob.”

Once again, a threat from Earth-2 looms over the fate of Earth-1. Because said threat involves several hyper-intelligent and giant gorillas, all is forgiven on the reused plot front. What will be interesting is seeing Gorilla City represented in live-action. In the comics and cartoon series, it often appears as an advanced city beyond current human technology. Seeing the city with the already spectacular look of the show’s Earth-2 as its backdrop is a sight we can’t wait to behold.

Also of note is the reason for their travels to Gorilla City. Harry’s been kidnapped, but by whom and why? Is this Solovar’s doing, in search of a sure fire way to invade Earth-1? Or did Grodd abduct the scientist to lure Team Flash for their help? Tell us your thoughts and theories in the comments below.

The episode, Attack on Gorilla City, will air Tuesday, February 21.
