At this past weekend’s PaleyFest LA, IGN spoke with the Supergirl cast and producers about the upcoming crossover event.¬†Melissa Benoist’s statement probably incites the most excitement: “I’m excited for you guys to see the race.” Benoist also alluded to Supergirl’s reaction to seeing another, but different, super-powered being, “for once she’s like, ‘Oh my god, it’s someone like me!'”

The two actors, Melissa and Grant Gustin (Barry Allan/The Flash), have great chemistry off-screen and according to Supergirl’s executive producer, Ali Adler, it’s just as evident on screen.

“I’m most excited for you guys to see the chemistry we got to enjoy on the stage and out on the day… they’re friends, so it’s nice to see the camaraderie.” She added that this camaraderie may entice jealousy out of Jimmy Olsen, “I think it makes James [Olsen] a bit jealous. It was a great experience.”

Olsen’s actor, Mechad Brooks explained his interpretation of the character’s jealousy of the Scarlett Speedster. “He’s a superhero and so is Kara, and James cares for Kara a lot. They’ve got that connection that he doesn’t have. He’s kind of like, ‘What am I supposed to do?'”

Back to everyone’s immense excitement about the race, Ali Adler finished the interview¬†with this tease:

“It’s the very question ‘Who is the fastest man alive?’ and for our purposes, it’s ‘Who is the fastest person alive?’ We’ll see if we answer that question.”

Indeed we will.
