After the super-serious Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, the bad guys are coming to make the DC Comics movie universe funnier. According to a report today, Warner Bros. is doing reshoots on Suicide Squad to make the all-villains movie funnier.

According to Bith.Movies.Death.‘s sources, the only funny parts of the David Ayer-directed film were used in the glorious trailer released in January. More sources told the site that the studio saw the positive response to that and spent millions of dollars to film new scenes. The goal was to add some more humor to the film and the DC universe overall.

Warner Bros. has clearly figured out that the entire DC movie universe can’t be as deadly serious as Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel and Batman v. Superman. Audiences go to the movies to have fun, after all.

Suicide Squad stars Margot Robbie, Viola Davis, Will Smith, Joel Kinnaman, Jai Courtney, Cara Delevingne and Jared Leto. It was written and directed by Ayer and hits theaters on Aug. 5.
