Star Wars is one of the most successful movie franchises of all time, and since the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens in 2015, there’s also been a spin off, Rogue One, to give another aspect to the universe. Another spin-off, a standalone Han Solo movie is also in the works, but before that, we have Star Wars: Episode VIII- The Last Jedi. The first teaser for the highly anticipated movie has arrived, making its debut at the Star Wars Celebration in Orlando, to the delight of the crowds present. Watch below.
Disney and Lucasfilm have kept plot details for The Last Jedi under wraps, and the teaser doesn’t offer much insight either, but it’s still exciting to see it on our screens; a reminder of what’s to come. There are so many directions the story could go in now, but the question on everyone’s lips is, why does Luke want the Jedi to end?
Directed by Rian Johnson, The Last Jedi will star Mark Hamill opposite the late Carrie Fisher, with newer Star Wars cast members, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Adam Driver, and Oscar Isaac, also featuring heavily. Gwendoline Christie, Domhnall Gleeson, Benicio Del Toro, Laura Dern, Anthony Daniels, and Peter Mayhew also star. The Last Jedi panel also unveiled an amazing new poster, possibly hinting at dark moments to come for Luke Skywalker.

The movie’s title is ominous; who are the last Jedi (plural)? At the end of The Force Awakens, Rey had tracked Luke Skywalker down to a remote clifftop, where she presented him with her lightsaber. In the wake of Kylo Ren’s murder of his father, Han Solo, will Luke seek revenge on his nephew, or will he rise up and fight against the Dark Side? Of course, the biggest question that everyone wants the answer to, is who Rey is in relation to Luke. There are so many theories out there on the internet that it’s hard to make sense of it all. Hopefully The Last Jedi will answer all of this and more.
Star Wars: Episode VIII- The Last Jedi will be released on December 15th, 2017.
