Tom Holland’s enthusiastically likeable performance as the webbed wonder in Captain America: Civil War convinced the movie-going world that they were ready for another iteration of one of Marvel’s most valuable properties.

Thankfully, the cameo meant we won’t have to endure that origin story again. There are only so many tears you can cry over Uncle Ben. What Civil War did so well was quickly establish that he’d had his powers for six months. We also saw CCTV footage of him stopping crime in New York City, so we can assume his solo will pick up where we left off and run in sync with the larger MCU timeline. We’re up to speed, and that’s important for audiences who might have suffered from familiarity fatigue.

On the whole, we don’t really know that much more about the movie, beyond casting and guess work, with an official synopsis yet to be released. Having successfully teased the web wing suit, and the return of John Favreau as Happy Hogan, we now have the first full trailer swinging onto the web to give us an idea of Cop Car director, John Watts Spider-Man vision. Check out Spider-Man: Homecoming’s first official trailer below!

Joining Tom Holland in the ever burgeoning Marvel Cinematic Universe are Michael Keaton as The Vulture, Donald Glover, Marisa Tomei, and Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark.
