Filming for Sherlock season 4 has begun!

*Cheers* Finally.

An announcement made earlier today by the BBC show’s co-creator Mark Gatiss, via Twitter video, set the Sherlock world aflame.

The video also revealed that Rachel Talalay will be joining the Sherlock family on production. Talalay, who is quite the heavy swinger, has worked recently on episodes for The Flash and directed the season 8 and 9 finales of Doctor Who.

In this version of the Conan Doyle characters, staring Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock Holmes and Martin Freeman as his partner Dr. John Watson, the pair find themselves in 21st century London solving odd and bizarre crimes.

The show had been on Hiatus since series 3 aired in 2014 only to return briefly with the recent holiday special, The Abominable Bride, which sent the pair back in time to 1890s London.

With filming underway and the series set to premiere sometime in 2017, we only expect more videos and clues to be teased online. So keep your eyes open and let the sleuthing begin!

Let us know how excited you are to hear about the filming of season 4 in the comments below!
