That Sad Affleck thing has reached new levels of parody now. During a recent interview with PeopleOutlander star Sam Heughan asked the interviewer if he could “do a Sad Affleck.” The results were perfect, though maybe in this case a Smoldering Sad Affleck.

The Sad Affleck comes from a recent Yahoo Movies interview with Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck during their press junket for Batman V Superman during which Affleck slipped into a long silence looking introspective and sad after the interviewer questioned both actors on the influx of bad reviews for the film. In truth, Affleck was likely merely listening to Cavill’s lengthy response, but the Internet saw an opportunity. Since then the video has gone through several treatments including being set to Simon & Garfunkel’s Sounds of Silence.
