In true Deadpool fashion, Ryan Reynolds has made an appearance on the popular Youtube channel Screen Junkies, in their regular feature of Honest Trailers – a satirical look at new movies.

It is, as you would expect, just as meta as the titular film it pokes fun at. With its many mentions of breaking the fourth wall, getting bleeped for the children that watch the video, and its box office success, it seems the perfect way to mock the highest grossing R-rated film of all time.

It’s a delight seeing Deadpool crash pop culture series’ and marketing tools, which have continued well after the film was released. Last month, Deadpool crashed the iTunes store, appearing on the covers of other films. As we continue to ride the wave of Deadpool and anticipate its sequels, we can only wonder where else 20th Century Fox will allow him to appear.

Deadpool was a surprise hit among critics as one of the most successful comic book movies ever. It grossed over $760 million at the box office, after test footage leaked of it a few years back. Today, he has cemented himself as one of the most desired superheroes.

“Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, Deadpool tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, he hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.”

A sequel is already in the works, with Cable confirmed to make an appearance. Earlier this week, we reported on the potential of a Deadpool and X-Men crossover.

What did you think of the film and the Honest Trailer for it? Are you excited about the sequels?
