Rockstar’s Future Projects Will Be Revealed Soon

It’s well known that Rockstar Games has been hard at work on new titles. With rumors circulating of the next Grand Theft Auto already in development, alongside a leak of Red Dead Redemption 2’s map and a statement alleging the game would be a prequel, an announcement must be on the horizon. According to the developer’s parent company Take-Two Interactive’s quarterly earnings report, the much anticipated announcements may be sooner than we think.

The report explained:

“Looking ahead, we expect to grow Non- GAAP revenues and earning in fiscal 2018, based on our robust development plan that extends well beyond the current fiscal year. Rockstar Games is of course hard at work on some exciting future projects that will be revealed soon.”

The company’s report didn’t elaborate any further on what the projects were or when exactly they’d be announced. While E3 would be a safe bet, Rockstar is known for not concerning itself with such events, since it typically reveals its titles on its own terms, and usually just months prior to release.

Since this information has come weeks after the Red Dead Redemption 2 leak, it would not be surprising if that were the first of the developer’s incoming reveals. This month marks the sixth year since Red Dead Redemption’s launch, and there’s no better way to celebrate the title that changed open-world gaming than to announce a follow-up. Again, Rockstar doesn’t seem to be too fond of tradition, so we won’t be surprised if the reveal comes randomly with no warning, as just an image or a vague post on their website.
