It’s official, Marvel and Netflix have ordered yet another spin-off for their vastly growing TV universe, The Punisher. Entertainment Weekly reports Jon Bernthal is set to reprise his role as the series’ titular character, after his earth shaking performance on Daredevil’s season 2.
Writer and executive producer Steve Lightfoot (Hannibal) will act as showrunner to The Punisher, which marks the sixth Marvel series to hit the streaming service, alongside Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and The Defenders. Whether Frank Castle will be involved with the team-up series, The Defenders, is still unknown, but it is safe to assume he may factor in somehow.
EW also notes that the two companies are expected to publicly announce the vigilante’s spin-off series later today. Check out the first teaser image below:
