As a part of Game Developers Conference 2016, Sony has announced, via private invites, a presentation dedicated to PlayStation VR. The “exclusive press event” is invite only and will be held in San Francisco on March 15. The presentation is set to start at 2:00 PM PT, with hands-on demos following it until 6:00 PM PT.
GameStop’s CEO recently stated PlayStation VR would be launching later this year as opposed to its first-half of the year expectation set by Sony. A Sony representative quickly dispelled the comment, by noting that the company was not yet ready to release such details. Perhaps this event will put an end to the speculation; perhaps Sony is finally ready to talk price, release date, and launch titles.
Since the recent announcement of Oculus Rift’s $600 price tag and the HTC Vive taking it up a notch with an $800 release in April, PSVR has been in the hot seat as the anticipation builds. As soon as any information comes out of GDC, you can be sure to find it here on GeekFeed.
