While initially thought to take on a release slot akin to Jessica Jones this past November, it has been revealed the series will start streaming on September 30, 2016.

Last night, on the Red Carpet of Daredevil’s season two premier, Luke Cage himself, Michael Colter, made the announcement. “It’s going to be action packed from the beginning to the very end. Trust me. Daredevil premieres March 18 and I will see the fans on September 30,” he said of his upcoming series.

Originally debuting in Marvel’s Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, set months after the events in Jessica,¬†follows the titular character on his move to Harlem. There he’ll face his own criminal element and villains, such as Cornell “Cottonmouth” Stokes (Mahershala Ali).

In other Luke Cage news, we reported earlier this week that, according to¬†Umberto ‚ÄúEl Mayimbe‚ÄĚ Gonzales, Iron Fist will make his debut towards the end of Luke Cage’s season one. If Colter is right, the wait to find out won’t be long.
