‘Legends of Tomorrow’: Season 2 Villain Intro Teased

Legends of Tomorrow is an interesting beast. It’s a spinoff of two previously existing shows, that are still currently on air, and had its narrative kick into full swing before the pilot ever even hit the air waves. Strange stuff; but some would say it worked in the show’s favor. Its large ensemble cast was mostly built of characters fans had already grown to know and love, but the first season’s big bad had been introduced weeks prior to the show premiering. Again, it worked, for the most part, but it took the mystique out of Vandal Savage. He was a character who popped up every other episode where convenient; in turn, Savage was either hit or miss. Luckily, that may not be a problem for Season 2.

Aside from the Thanagarians being ruled out, nothing is known about the next season’s big bad.  With Marc Guggenheim teasing the new villain will make Savage look weak in comparison, the guessing game is on for who will fill the immortal’s shoes. It seems like the perfect Prometheus bait, but the team is still keeping their lips sealed, although Guggenheim has offered another hint. This time it’s in regards to how fans can expect the mystery baddie to be introduced.

“Unlike Season 1 of Legends, where we basically had the big bad introduced in the crossover, what we’re going to do in Season 2 of Legends will be more similar to what you’ve experienced in the first three seasons of Arrow or the first two seasons of Flash, where it’s more of a slow reveal and a little bit of a mystery.”

The Justice Society has been introduced, courtesy of Hourman, and now our ragtag team of misfits/heroes will set off on another journey to save the cheerleader and the world… wrong show, but essentially a similar idea. How will this all play out? Let us know your thoughts and theories in the comments below.

Legends of Tomorrow returns this fall alongside three other DC TV shows on The CW.
