Get ready to jump straight back into the action when Incredibles 2 hits cinemas next year. In the closing moments of the first movie, we see Mr. Incredible and the family of superheroes suiting up for their battle with the Underminer. Now, in an interview with IGN at D23, Pixar chief John Lasseter has shed light on the sequel’s opening scenes.
Since the sequel to the Incredibles was first announced, the internet has been speculating exactly where the latest film will be set. Furthermore, the first Incredibles movie premiered in cinemas back in 2004. With such a huge gap, fans have been desperate to know whether we’d be seeing a baby or teenage Jack-Jack. Now, Lassiter has stepped in to tease us a couple of details. The Pixar chief told IGN that Incredibles 2 will be set right after the first ended. Via EW:
““It starts right as the first one finishes, so it just carries on,” Lasseter told IGN at this year’s D23 Expo. He added that the sequel will begin with a major action scene centering on the Underminer, the cartoonish, mole-like villain who emerged from the earth in the last few seconds of the original.
