HTC Vive, HTC’s virtual reality headset, is now available for pre-order at the price of $800 USD. Credit card and Paypal are both accepted on orders. In addition to pricing and and pre-order information, the company previously revealed that the VR device will ship with two free games. For a limited time, Owlchemy Labs’ Job Simulator and Northway Games’ Fantastic Contraption will be bundled in with the headset. HTC also intends for their virtual reality device to be about more than just gaming as they are working with developers to create content which spans into the realms of “entertainment, retail, education, design, healthcare and automative.”
Oculus Rift pre-orders went live a few days ago with an imminent release at the end of March. Sony announced a virtual reality focused event for their upcoming PSVR, which will be held on March 15 at this year’s GDC; presumably, a price a release date will be revealed.
