Marvel took a gamble with the release of Guardians of the Galaxy in 2015, but it was one which paid off. The movie was a huge hit, and director James Gunn was quickly recruited to make a sequel. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will be released on May 5th, reuniting the original cast for more space adventures as the family of misfits try to save the world.
Anticipation for Guardians 2 is high, with a third Guardians movie already planned, once again with Gunn attached to direct. The middle movie of any trilogy is notoriously difficult to get right, but it seems as though Gunn has struck Marvel gold once again. Early reactions to Guardians 2 are very positive, with critics taking to Twitter to express their love for the movie ahead of the review embargo being lifted on April 24.
Many have praised the humor of the movie, but also the surprising depth of emotion it has; something that will come as a surprise to some, but we always knew such a great cast was capable of pulling an emotive storyline off. Take a look at some of the early reaction tweets below:

Given the strength of these comments, it seems entirely reasonable to expect strong reviews, too. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is going to be a sure-fire hit for Marvel, whose domination of the superhero genre shows no signs of stopping.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is released on May 5th.
