Clark Gregg will now face SHIELD agent rival Hayley Atwell on Spike’s Lip Sync Battle. The two hilariously conducted a Dubstep war via social media last year from July to October, each trying to one-up the other. Being the awesome people they are, they both decided to turn their war into an act of charity and raised money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Stomp Out Bullying! respectively.
In a new crowd-requested battle between the director of SHIELD and its founder, Gregg is apparently no more inhibited than he was last year when he and fellow SHIELD cast members did Miley Cyrus’ Wrecking Ball. Spike has posted this teaser via YouTube of what we can expect, and apparently Gregg is taking no prisoners with his rendition of Toxic by Britney Spears:
Looks like Tahiti had far more effects on the Son of Coul than originally thought. This episode of Lip Sync Battle will air on Spike April 21 (check your local listings).
The initial battle began last year during the San Diego Comic-Con in July. Both Gregg and Atwell recruited some big names to aid in their war such as Miss Piggy, Patton Oswalt, Stan Lee and Chris Evans. In the end Team Carter edged out Team SHIELD by raking in $79,000 for Stomp Out Bullying! versus $75,000 raised for St. Jude by Gregg’s team. Catch a compilation below:
Aside from lip synching as a scantily clad stewardess, you can catch Gregg as SHIELD director Phil Coulson on Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD, currently in its third season, every Tuesday night on ABC. Hayley Atwell has been slated to star in the pilot for ABC’s Conviction this fall. The jury is still out on whether her current Marvel vehicle, Agent Carter, will be renewed for a third season following a ratings decline this winter.
